Kirklees Neighbourhood Housing Wins ‘Most Effective Partnership’
Kirklees Neighbourhood Housing (KNH) has won an award for ‘Most Effective Partnership’ with the National Federation of ALMOs (NFA). Securistyle, the leader in quality, innovative hardware for the window and door industries, formed part of the partnership that was recognised for its work on the winning project ‘Breaking In, Saving Lives’. Ken Evans, National Specification Manager explains the criteria of the award: “To win in this category the award entry had to demonstrate a successful partnership between the ALMO and other community groups that has provided a positive outcome to the local community.

The Devil is in the Detail
Amongst the more negative headlines on the public sector spending cuts that have been hitting in the last couple of years, Housing Associations were given some good news last year as the Affordable Homes Programme announced its aim to increase the amount of affordable homes in the UK between 2011 and 2015. The Programme will be investing £4.5bn in new properties for affordable rent or ownership in the period.
